I'm Done! Let's Celebrate With A CONTEST!

In case you didn't hear, I revised the entirety of Meant to Be in three weeks and just sent it off to Lauren Oliver at Paper Lantern Lit. Needless to say, I'm pretty psyched! This is my first completed (and revised) novel, thatI started writing a little over a year ago. I've decided to celebrate this auspicious occasion with a giveaway.

I just finished Sarah Dessen's What Happened to Goodbye. I LOVE SARAH DESSEN. Reading This Lullaby was what really started my YA renaissance about 5 years ago. I quickly burned through everything she'd ever written, and hers are definitely amongst the books that I will pay full-price for on release day. She never lets me down. Reading a Sarah Dessen book is the novel equivalent of crawling into your favorite chair with your favorite blanket. It's like reading in a big hug. It's comfortable and familiar and you never want to leave her world.

WHTG quickly became one of my favorites (though The Truth About Forever still holds the top spot!). From Sarah's site:
Since her parents’ bitter divorce, McLean and her dad, a restaurant consultant, have been on the move-four towns in two years. Estranged from her mother and her mother’s new family, McLean has followed her dad in leaving the unhappy past behind. And each new place gives her a chance to try out a new persona: from cheerleader to drama diva. But now, for the first time, McLean discovers a desire to stay in one place and just be herself, whoever that is. Perhaps Dave, the guy next door, can help her find out.
So to celebrate the joy that is turning in your very first novel, I'd like to give away a book by an author who made me want to write YA in the first place. If you'd like a copy of What Happened to Goodbye, simply leave a comment and tell me who your favorite YA author is, or if you're a writer, which author inspired you to do what you do!

You can also get bonus entries for following this blog, becoming a fan on Facebook, and tweeting about the giveaway. You can use this (or be creative!):

Win a copy of @sarahdessen's What Happened to Goodbye from @laurenemorrill http://tinyurl.com/3s25ph6

That's four opportunities to win! Make sure you include your bonus entries in your comment. I'll randomly draw a winner on June 1.

Oh, and because I'm such a Kindle enthusiast ... If you win, I'll give you the option of receiving a digital edition via Amazon (and then I'll keep my snazzy hardcover!).

Thanks for celebrating with me!

I love Sarah Dessen, too! And she's a huge inspiration for my writing, as well! Go contemporary YA! (I'm not entering, since I got the book on release day, but couldn't resist commenting - or sounding like a huge nerd, apparently.)

I'm following you here on blogspot. Let's see, author Sarra Manning had me with her book "Guitar Girl," it had a combination of everything I loved then and now: music and a lil angst. I also like Melissa Marr for her Fantasy work, what can I say my love for fairies didn't end with my childhood.

Looking forward to adding your book to my personal library.
